G-SYNC Pulsar Monitor Firmware Update

G-SYNC Pulsar Firmware version 1.1.4 update is available now for Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV and MSI MPG 272QRF X36 models with G-SYNC Pulsar. You can also roll back to earlier firmware versions.

System Requirements: Google Chrome 61, Microsoft Edge 79, Opera 48 or newer for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or ChromeOS.

The firmware update includes G-SYNC Pulsar optimizations, eliminates sharp double images when operating under 90 FPS, fixes the in-monitor FPS indicator when below 90 FPS, and adds a fixed 60Hz strobing mode (for games locked to 60 Hz).

This firmware update is available now for Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV and MSI MPG 272QRF X36 monitors with G-SYNC Pulsar.

You need an Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV or MSI MPG 272QRF X36 monitor, a supported computing device (such as a PC, Mac or Android tablet or phone), a Micro-B USB cable from the monitor to your computing device and a supported web browser (such as Google Chrome).

No installation is required - just connect your monitor via USB to a machine with a supported web browser and operating system.

No. Firmware updates offered through this official tool are fully supported by the manufacturer.

Be sure to carefully follow the connection instructions so that your monitor is switched into Firmware Update Mode. When the monitor is in this mode, the status light will flash slowly, and the screen will show Firmware Update Mode in the top-left corner.

If the app still doesn't connect to the monitor, there may be a problem with the USB cable. Ensure your cable supports data transfer, try reconnecting it or try a different cable.

The app will alert you. In most cases, it will allow you to retry safely.

In the unlikely case that your monitor won’t start, click "Update Monitor" and follow the recovery steps in the "My monitor won't start up" section.

In rare cases, after a failed upgrade, the monitor may fail to start up. To reinstall the latest firmware, click "Update Monitor" and follow the recovery steps in the "My monitor won't start up" section.

By choosing to run this firmware update, you agree to the following, in addition to the NVIDIA Firmware License Agreement:

  1. Nature of the update and risk. This tool updates low‑level firmware on your G‑SYNC‑enabled monitor. If the update process is interrupted or fails (for example, due to loss of power, unplugging or moving cables, a system crash, or failure to follow the instructions), your monitor may malfunction, lose functionality, or become permanently unusable.
  2. Your responsibilities. Before starting the update, you are responsible for: (a) ensuring that your computing device (such as a PC, Mac, tablet or phone) and G‑SYNC‑enabled monitor are connected to a stable power source; (b) ensuring that all relevant cables (USB, display, power) are correctly connected; and (c) following all on‑screen instructions and not turning off or disconnecting your computing device or monitor, or unplugging any cables, until the tool confirms that the update is complete.
  3. Assumption of risk. You understand and agree that you run this G‑SYNC firmware update at your own risk, and that you, not NVIDIA, are responsible for any impact on your monitor or system resulting from an interrupted or failed update, except to the extent such responsibility cannot be limited under applicable law.
  4. No monitor warranty or replacement obligation. NVIDIA does not manufacture, sell, or warrant your monitor. Any hardware warranty for your monitor is provided by the monitor manufacturer or seller. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NVIDIA does not assume any obligation to repair, replace, or provide any compensation for monitors or other hardware that are damaged, lose functionality, or become unusable as a result of the G‑SYNC firmware update process, and any such claims must be directed to your monitor manufacturer or seller. Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under your monitor warranty or under non‑waivable consumer protection laws.
  5. Incorporation of NVIDIA Firmware License Agreement. The NVIDIA Firmware License Agreement continues to apply to your use of this G‑SYNC firmware and update tool, including all warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability contained in that Agreement.

First, tell us the manufacturer of your monitor

This lets us give you the right instructions to connect your monitor and prepare it for an update.

Next, plug in your monitor update cable

Connect the USB cable from your computer to your monitor update port. Make sure you're using a USB data cable.

Next, enter Firmware Update Mode

With your monitor powered up, use the buttons to enter the on-screen menu and then from the System menu select Firmware Update.

Next, enter Recovery Mode

Your monitor needs to be switched into Recovery Mode to reinstall firmware. Follow these instructions to restart your monitor in Recovery Mode.

Unplug your monitor power cable

Hold down any button

You can hold down any button including the Power Button, or if your monitor has a joystick, you can hold it in any direction.

Plug your monitor power cable back in, while keeping the button held down for 10 seconds

The status light will begin to flash slowly indicating that the monitor is in Recovery Mode.
If the status light is already flashing slowly, you can skip these steps.

Allow web browser to connect to your monitor

This opens a pop-up with a device list. Select your monitor in the list, then click "Connect".

The monitor name should include "Acer [Product]" or "NVIDIA G-SYNC". The monitor name should include "AOC [Product]" or "NVIDIA G-SYNC". Checking if there is an update for your monitor

Lost connection to monitor

The USB connection to your monitor has been lost. The update process cannot continue.

Another tab is already connected to your monitor

Couldn't connect to your monitor because it's currently being used by another tab or program.

Close any tabs or programs using the monitor, then try again.

Lost internet connection

The network connection to the update service has failed. The update process cannot continue.

Server error

There is an internal problem with the server. Please try again later.

Firmware update failed

Something went wrong while updating your monitor's firmware. The update process cannot continue.
